Within the frame of the Construction Products Regulation (EU 305/2011), the CE marking on structural steel and aluminum components is mandatory since July 1st, 2014.
EN 1090-1 specifies the requirements for conformity assessment of performance characteristics for structural steel and aluminum components as well as for kits placed on the market as construction products. The implementation of a factory production control (FPC) according to the requirements of EN-1090 gives the manufacturer the opportunity to optimize its manufacturing processes gaining a real increase in productivity, in technical capabilities and products quality. An EN-1090 certified company has the opportunity to place on the market products that are clearly distinguishable from similar products of competitors and with an higher commercial visibility since they are provided with CE mark.
